Chester has had a small fortune spent on him trying to change his behaviour. He was heavily dog reactive as you can see, he was well socialised, he went to daycare 3 times a week yet he still reacted at all dogs The reason why doesn't really matter all that mattered was it was has a huge affect on family life. His owners had sent Chester away to residential training which actually made him worse. Not only that, they had complaints from the neighbours meaning they were forced to move house.
With a training plan tailored to Chester, his mindset changed for good. We focused solely on my 5 key pillars. We have completely changed his life, as he is now a 'Go anywhere dog'. His owners were going to put Chester in the kennels when they went to the lake district, they cancelled that and took him with them!
Skye's family had come to the end off there teather with her behaviour. Like a lot of dog's Skye was the perfect dog indoors, she was calm, gentle with there 3yr old son. But once the front door was open Skye changed dramatically, Barking and lunging at dogs, cars, bikes, cats. Pretty much everything that moved, which makes sense when you think a Border Collie wants to control and herd, when they can't it's deeply insulting to them hence the reactions. You cannot change instinct we can only reduce the motivation to do so. So thats what we did.
Lots of foundational work, 17 days without a proper walk, just training sessions and play, covering the 5 key pillars. Once we had strong foundations we started re-introducing triggers to Skye's world. Changes like this only happen when you change the dogs whole mindset, not just address the issues.
Henry was left in a rescue centre for over a year and due to be put down. Due to his reactive behaviour no one wanted to rehome him. I took him in for 5 months and changed his outlook on the world. The work rate of the border collie paired with the prey drive of a greyhound is asking for trouble and trouble he was. He would redirect towards the handler when he couldn't get to dogs. He was 100% dog aggressive and that was down to gentics, anything small, fluffy or quick he would want to chase and bite, an instinct that can't be removed.
But as you can see, Henry's life has completely changed. Happy and able to be around dogs, infact he thrives off of other dogs and best of all he now lives his life with a loving family. Truely a life saved.
